About the role#
This 8-week Micro-Internship provides freshman and sophomore students with early exposure to civil engineering, transportation, and infrastructure projects. You will work directly with our teams in Dallas or Plano to gain hands-on experience and build foundational professional skills. This is a full-time, paid, on-site program.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineering teams with daily tasks and project duties.
- Help with the research, development, and design of various projects.
- Prepare engineering drawings and related documentation.
- Complete other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program, specifically as a freshman or sophomore.
- Pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and organize information for project documents.
- Familiarity with introductory shop drawing and submittal procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and previous leadership experience.
- Ability to accept and apply direction from peers and supervisors.
Location & details#
- This position is based on-site at our Dallas or Plano, Texas offices.
- You must be able to work in person five days a week.
- The term is Summer 2027.
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Relocation and housing are not provided.
