About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Los Angeles. You will work on-site across our Transit/Rail, Roadway/Highway, Aviation, and Transportation Planning teams. This role supports our engineering departments by performing tasks that relate to standard post-secondary engineering curriculum.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineering teams with daily tasks and project duties.
- Help with the research, development, and design of various projects.
- Prepare engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program.
- Completion of at least 2 years of an engineering program.
- Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and organize information for drawings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of basic engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
- Familiarity with introductory shop drawing and submittal procedures.
- Ability to accept and apply direction from peers and supervisors.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Interest in infrastructure and transportation.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or Civil 3D is preferred.
- Pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.

- Location: Los Angeles, California (with work at Figueroa Street, the Crenshaw Project, and LA International Airport).
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Pay: $24.23 to $36.34 per hour.
- Work Modality: On-site.
