About the role#
HNTB is hiring Civil Engineer Interns for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Austin, Round Rock, or San Antonio. You will work alongside engineering teams to support infrastructure projects in areas like construction, rail, transit, roadway, structures, and traffic. Please note that relocation and housing assistance are not provided.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineering teams with daily tasks and project duties.
- Help with the research, development, and design of engineering projects.
- Prepare engineering drawings and documents as assigned.
- Perform basic engineering calculations.
- Organize information for use in technical documents and drawings.
- Apply direction from peers and supervisors while learning about shop drawing and submittal procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program.
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- A basic understanding of geometric, algebraic, and engineering principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Completion of at least two years of an engineering program is preferred.
