About the role#
This internship offers an opportunity to work with the Applications Engineering team at Hitachi. You will support the design, build, programming, and deployment of custom automated equipment. The term runs from May 2027 through August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with Applications, Controls, Mechanical, and Build teams to design custom automation lines for customers.
- Brainstorm and vet potential automation solutions.
- Create CAD models and conduct automation timing studies.
- Prepare quote materials for customers.
- Communicate directly with customers to gather requirements and present concept designs.
- Contact vendors for product quotes and technical expertise.
- Develop, build, and present an intern project to management and the applications team.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college program pursuing a degree in Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic proficiency in CAD software.
- Familiarity with electrical or pneumatic schematic drawing packages.
- Computer literacy in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid position.
- The role is based on-site in Ogden or Salt Lake City, Utah.
- Candidates must complete a 10-panel drug screen, physical examination, and background check.
