About the role#
This internship at Ingalls Shipbuilding provides students with practical experience in technical or administrative roles. You will work within our engineering teams to support the design and maintenance of naval vessels. This program is designed to offer exposure to our business operations and potential pathways for future full-time employment.
What you'll do#
- Gain hands-on experience in a technical or administrative capacity.
- Commit to a 40-hour work week for at least 10 weeks during the summer.
- Work on-site at our facilities, which may include accessing various work sites aboard ships under construction or overhaul.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Industrial Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- You must be at least 18 years old by mid-May.
- Attendance at a college or university for the fall term following the internship.
- Ability to pass a criminal background investigation, a physical, and a hair follicle drug screen.
- Ability to navigate work sites that may require climbing ladders or working in various physical positions.
- You must upload your most recent college transcripts when you apply.
