About the role#
This is a part-time, paid externship for students pursuing a career as a Surgical Technologist. You will work at Saint Vincent Health Center in Erie, Pennsylvania. You will perform prescribed procedures under the direct supervision of a Surgical Technologist.
What you'll do#
- Perform technical procedures according to your level of documented competency.
- Demonstrate clinical skills including aseptic technique, sharps safety, instrument management, and specimen management.
- Communicate patient data to the care team.
- Organize and prioritize patient care activities using time management skills.
- Take responsibility for your own professional growth.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Certified Surgical Technologist program.
- You must be in good standing within a CAAHEP-accredited program.
