About the role#
This Surgical Technologist Extern role involves performing technical procedures under the supervision of a Surgical Technologist. You will work at a technical level, using independent judgment and initiative to assist in the operating room environment.
What you'll do#
- Perform prescribed surgical technologist procedures while under supervision.
- Demonstrate competency in aseptic technique, sharps safety, instrument management, and specimen management.
- Communicate pertinent patient data accurately.
- Organize and prioritize patient care activities using time management skills.
- Take responsibility for your own professional development.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Certified Surgical Technologist Program.
- Must be in good standing within a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technologist program.
