About the role#
The Summer 2027 AI Services and Platforms Software Engineer Graduate Internship offers hands-on experience building cloud-native software for Generative AI applications. You will work alongside software engineers and architects to design and develop the backend components that power enterprise AI solutions. This role focuses on combining software engineering fundamentals with emerging AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and AI agents.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop reusable APIs, microservices, and orchestration capabilities.
- Build backend infrastructure to support RAG and AI agent solutions.
- Contribute to the architecture, testing, deployment, and optimization of backend systems.
- Write automated tests and improve system performance and observability.
- Participate in system architecture and design discussions.
- Deploy services to cloud environments.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree and current enrollment in a graduate program (full or part-time) at an accredited college or university.
- Pursuit of a Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Experience with backend development and frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
- A solid understanding of software engineering and system design principles.
- Knowledge of APIs, distributed systems, service orchestration, and API lifecycle management.
- Authorization to work in the United States independently (visa sponsorship is not available for this role).
