About the role#
As a Pre-Silicon Diagnostics Intern, you will work with senior engineers to validate chip-level designs for HPE Slingshot NIC and switch ASICs. You will use emulator-based environments to test hardware functionality and contribute to the development of software tools that improve validation efficiency. This role provides an opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering challenges while gaining experience in large-scale software development and hardware validation.
What you'll do#
- Assist in developing and executing chip-level validation tests using emulator-based environments.
- Write software tools, scripts, and automated tests to increase validation coverage.
- Analyze test results to identify and investigate hardware and software issues.
- Contribute to test infrastructure and automation projects under the guidance of experienced team members.
- Document debug activities and project findings.
- Participate in technical design reviews and validation discussions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Experience programming in Python, C++, Java, or a similar language.
- Familiarity with Linux or Unix command-line environments.
- Understanding of computer architecture, digital logic, networking, operating systems, or embedded systems concepts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn new technologies in a team environment.
