About the role#
As a Hardware Engineering Intern, you will join our team to support technical projects and contribute to our hardware quality initiatives. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Sunnyvale, California. You will work alongside senior team members, gaining hands-on experience in a professional research and development environment.
What you'll do#
- Support senior team members on assigned technical projects.
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Provide hands-on support in the lab for hardware quality initiatives.
- Interface with cross-functional teams throughout the product development cycle.
- Learn about new technologies and methodologies relevant to your work.
- Participate in periodic reviews to share updates and incorporate feedback.
- Fulfill tasks and responsibilities assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- Proficiency with electrical circuit design, schematic design, and schematic capture tools.
- Experience with hardware design, including digital logic, CPU, clocks, signal integrity, power delivery, and analog components.
- Experience with board design layout and multi-layer board considerations.
- Hands-on experience testing L2/L3 products with Ethernet packet generators.
- Skilled debugging capability.
- Understanding of PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, and high-speed SerDes.
- Scripting skills using Python.
- Familiarity with FPGAs and Verilog.
- Comfort working in a Unix/Linux environment.
- Understanding of Ethernet routing and switching.
- Team project experience outside of coursework.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
