About the role#
As a Firmware Engineer Intern, you will contribute to the development of firmware for low to moderately complex products. You will work within a project team to create reliable and cost-effective solutions. This role provides exposure to firmware design principles and real-time operating systems.
What you'll do#
- Write and program enhancements for firmware subsystems, including DSP, embedded code, and BIOS/UEFI.
- Run established test plans and protocols for your assigned code.
- Identify, log, and debug firmware issues.
- Collaborate with internal and outsourced development partners to support project goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
- Familiarity with firmware design tools and programming languages.
- A foundational understanding of hardware design principles.
- Knowledge of basic testing, coding, and debugging procedures.
Location & details#
- This is a hybrid position requiring an average of two days per week in an HPE office.
- Locations include Spring, TX; Westford, MA; Ft. Collins, CO; Chippewa Falls, WI; Durham, NC; Sunnyvale, CA; Roseville, CA; San Jose, CA; Bloomington, MN; and Andover, MA.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
