About the role#
This Co-Op position offers an 8-month, hands-on experience in R&D and operations engineering. You will work under the guidance of experienced engineers to contribute to projects in design, testing, and manufacturing. This role focuses on the development and validation of implantable systems for interventional and neuromodulation applications. You will be based on-site in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, with occasional travel to Fridley, Minnesota, as needed.
What you'll do#
- Provide general support in the development and qualification of new processes and equipment.
- Support the development of test methods to characterize product performance.
- Assist with advanced assembly processes including coil winding, polymer reflow, and laser welding.
- Analyze data and write technical documentation to support engineering decisions.
- Support continuous improvement efforts to optimize yields, throughputs, and cycle times.
- Participate in team meetings and activities while responding to changing priorities.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical, Industrial, Biomedical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Ability to work full-time on-site for the duration of the co-op.
- Strong analytical skills and demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
- A drive to learn about the real-world application of academic engineering concepts.
