About the role#
This internship offers experience in the consumer packaged goods industry. You will work on independent projects and assist the team with product development tasks. The role requires you to be on-site in Indianapolis.
What you'll do#
- Support the design of new products by focusing on flavor profiles, texture, color, shelf life, and nutritional content.
- Assist with pilot and commercial scale up trials.
- Complete analytical work and document results.
- Keep your lab area clean and organized.
- Ensure food safety and quality by following GMPs and maintaining sanitary conditions.
- Report any issues that impact food safety or personal safety to your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- A BS or MS in Food Science, or be currently enrolled in an accredited degree program.
- Proficiency in English, including speaking, reading, and writing.
- Strong mathematical skills and the ability to learn statistical analysis.
- Competency with Microsoft Office.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and tasks daily.
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand for long periods, and navigate the plant and distribution center.
- Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends if needed.
