About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based in Indianapolis. You will gain hands-on experience in the production side of our business. The role involves research and operational support across departments like Engineering, Quality, and Production. You will work on-site and may participate in client meetings or communication initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Follow food safety and security guidelines, including SQF practices and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points.
- Help coordinate the work of packers, machine operators, and blenders.
- Plan production sequences, work schedules, and assignments to meet plant goals.
- Manage daily inventories and supplies across departments.
- Inspect materials, equipment, and products to identify malfunctions or defects.
- Monitor gauges, dials, and production standards to ensure quality.
- Assist in resolving operational issues and facilitating team communication.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, Food Science, or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 pounds, continuous walking, and standing.
- Availability to work extended hours, including overtime and occasional weekends.
