About the role#
This paid internship provides students with hands-on experience in the Engineering and Production department at WMUR-TV. The program exposes interns to daily technical operations within a television station, allowing for direct training on broadcast equipment under the supervision of technical staff. Interns will rotate through various departments before spending the remainder of the program focusing on their preferred areas of interest.
What you'll do#
- Operate production equipment including wireless cameras, prompters, and editing tools.
- Participate in floor directing and studio directing tasks.
- Assist with air operations in master control.
- Train on the installation, repair, and support of broadcast systems.
- Gain exposure to IT functions related to broadcasting.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college program related to Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Media Studies.
- Genuine interest in the engineering and production aspects of television.
- Ability to commit to up to 24 hours per week.
- A cover letter detailing your specific objectives, current academic status, expected graduation timeline, availability, and areas of interest.
