This paid internship provides hands-on experience within the WMUR Engineering and Production department. Interns work directly with technical staff to gain exposure to daily operations at a television station. The program is designed to provide training across multiple technical disciplines, with opportunities to focus on specific areas of interest after initial rotations.
What you'll do#
- Operate equipment under the direct supervision of technical staff.
- Gain experience in production roles, including floor directing, wireless camera operation, prompter operation, editing, and directing.
- Train in air operations, specifically master control.
- Assist with the installation, repair, and support of broadcast systems.
- Develop an understanding of IT functions as they relate to broadcasting.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college program, specifically in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Media Studies.
- A strong interest in the engineering and production aspects of television.
- Ability to commit to up to 24 hours per week.
- A cover letter that details your objectives, current academic program, expected graduation timeline, specific areas of interest, and your availability for start and end dates.
