Creative Services Intern

About the role#

WMUR, the ABC affiliate in Manchester, NH, is seeking a summer intern to join the Creative Services team. This department manages the branding and promotional development for the station. Interns will gain a comprehensive understanding of how a television Creative Services department operates while learning the fundamentals of writing and producing effective news topical promotion.

What you'll do#

• Draft topical copy for WMUR, the nightly newsmagazine show Chronicle, and other special news segments.
• Observe newscasts and editing sessions to understand production workflows.
• Gain production experience by assisting on promotional and commercial shoots, both in-house and on location.
• Explore broadcast and digital marketing strategies.
• Learn about the station's commitment to the community through PSA production.
• Apply writing and communication skills in a professional media environment.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a degree program related to Communications, Media Studies, Marketing, or Graphic Design.
• An interest in learning the responsibilities of a Creative Services Department.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
