About the role#
As a News Intern at KOCO, you will gain hands-on experience in how a professional newsroom operates. You will work directly with the news team to research and gather information for stories and assist with daily production tasks. This is a paid, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Write stories for newscasts, including VO/spots and packages.
- Assist reporters, producers, and photographers during field shoots.
- Log interviews and help coordinate content within the newsroom.
- Support daily newsroom operations and assist the production team as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or background in Journalism or Communications.
- Ability to react and adapt quickly to breaking news.
- Versatility to handle a wide range of topics and subjects.
- Strong editorial, writing, and technical skills.
- An up-to-date knowledge of current events.
- Previous experience through college coursework or a prior newsroom internship.
