About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in the water, wastewater, and stormwater sectors. You will work directly with our engineering teams on projects ranging from initial planning and conceptual design to construction. You might work on pipelines, pump stations, or treatment facilities. This role involves integrating with various discipline groups, including CAD, civil, electrical, process mechanical, and structural engineering.
What you'll do#
- Participate in fieldwork, site visits, and client meetings. You should be comfortable walking outdoors in cold or inclement weather.
- Assist in preparing engineering deliverables like sampling studies, condition assessments, process modeling, and design reports.
- Manage data for process modeling and design tasks.
- Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors to select project equipment.
- Work alongside experienced engineers to support multiple projects through their full lifecycle.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in environmental, civil, chemical, or mechanical engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a group.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A self-motivated approach to your work.
- Preference is given to candidates with an advanced degree, prior experience in the water industry, or skills in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Civil 3D, and GIS.
