About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027 based on-site in Holland, Michigan. You will join a team focused on tailored engineering solutions, working either in an inquiry-based role or a design-focused role. In the inquiry role, you will evaluate dealer requests for feasibility, cost, and testing requirements. In the design role, you will take those requests to develop specific product designs based on established criteria.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate in teams of 4-5 people to manage project requests.
- Determine if requested projects are feasible by evaluating boundary conditions and costs.
- Coordinate with the test lab and suppliers to validate project requirements.
- Analyze design criteria and gather standard product information.
- Create product designs that meet exact customer specifications.
- Apply engineering principles to make deviations to standard projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Design, or Design Technology.
- Junior level status by Fall 2027.
- Minimum 2.95 GPA.
- Proficiency in 3-D CAD software and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Unrestricted right to work in the United States.
- Ability to work on-site from May 2027 to August 2027.
- Strong organizational skills, clear communication, and a drive for continuous learning.
- Experience with Creo software, SAP, ERP systems, or configured products is a plus.
- Prior work, internship, or extracurricular experience is preferred.
