    About the role#

    We are looking for an Accounting Intern to join our team in Honolulu. This is a part-time, on-site role that offers a chance to gain practical experience in corporate finance. You will work under the supervision of the Senior Accounting Manager to support our daily and monthly financial operations.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist with month-end close tasks, such as preparing schedules and organizing documentation.
    • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable by handling invoice coding and data entry.
    • Reconcile bank, credit card, and general ledger accounts to identify and resolve variances.
    • Build and maintain Excel reports, including spending summaries and aging reports.
    • Support inventory and cost accounting activities by compiling count results and researching variances.
    • Maintain data integrity within our ERP and finance systems.
    • Handle sensitive financial information with strict confidentiality while following internal controls and safety policies.
    • Contribute to special projects and other accounting tasks as needed.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Recent graduates within the last 12 months are also eligible.
    • Proficiency in Excel and ERP software.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
    • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • A commitment to ethical conduct, honesty, and professional integrity.
    • Ability to work effectively in a busy environment and handle stressful conditions.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

    • Location: Honolulu, Hawaii.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Employment: Part-time internship.
    • Compensation: $17 per hour.
