About the role#
Hatch is hiring a Transportation/Traffic Analyst Co-op Student for the Winter 2027 term. You will work within the Transportation, Highways and Bridges group to support infrastructure projects, planning studies, and environmental assessments. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Mississauga, Ontario.
What you'll do#
- Assist with traffic engineering and transportation studies, including the preparation of Traffic Impact Analysis reports.
- Support the development of conceptual and functional level designs, as well as traffic operations and safety reviews for urban and rural roads.
- Perform pedestrian planning and modelling studies.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure the timely and effective delivery of project documents.
- Contribute to complex planning studies and environmental assessments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university program for Civil Engineering, with a focus on transportation planning or traffic engineering.
- Experience or interest in traffic operations, modelling, safety assessment, and functional roadway design.
- Familiarity with software such as PTV Vissim/Viswalk, Synchro, AutoCAD/AutoTurn, or MicroStation.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment across multiple disciplines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- You must submit a transcript, official or unofficial, upon application.
