About the role#
Hatch is seeking a Mechanical Engineering student to join the Project Delivery Group for a Winter 2027 term. Reporting to the Mechanical Discipline Lead Engineer, you will work from our Niagara Falls office to support mechanical and piping engineering projects. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Complete mechanical and piping engineering design deliverables, working both independently and as part of a team.
- Assist senior engineers and designers with detailed design work and checking of deliverables.
- Learn about mechanical design applications, regional codes and standards, and company quality procedures.
- Collaborate with colleagues across multiple disciplines.
- Attend design and quality reviews.
- Participate in site inspections and walkdowns.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in the 3rd or 4th year of a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering program at an accredited university.
- Strong academic performance combined with involvement in extra-curricular or volunteer activities.
- Previous co-op or work experience in mechanical engineering design and execution.
- Technical experience with electrical design calculations, power system modeling tools, and data-centric design tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- A solid understanding of engineering and business fundamentals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to learn quickly, think critically, and solve problems while adapting to change.
