About the role#
Hatch is seeking a Commissioning Intern to join the Business Practices Consulting group. You will work from our Houston office to support global commissioning planning and technical execution. This role involves collaborating with senior engineers and designers to verify technical readiness and ensure project performance.
What you'll do#
- Support commissioning planning, setup, and the development of test plans and procedures.
- Provide technical support for testing and data collection during pre-commissioning and commissioning phases.
- Assist in technology initiatives to improve commissioning efficiency and investigate new software tools.
- Process test results, track data, and document progress.
- Review P&IDs, flow diagrams, network architecture drawings, and engineering registers.
- Help develop estimates, budgets, schedules, and proposals for commissioning services.
- Coordinate with construction planning teams to align systems and identify project acceleration opportunities.
- Assist in establishing commissioning requirements for modularization and pre-fabrication.
- Support detailed design work and prepare drawings from specifications.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program for electrical, computer, mechanical, chemical, or process engineering.
- A cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong report writing, planning, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel to Hatch offices, project sites, and supplier locations.
- Experience with Visio or similar tools is an asset.
- Previous co-op or internship experience in industrial project execution or construction is an asset.
- Ability to submit a transcript with your application.
