About the role#
This internship supports the Real Time Applications and SCADA team. You will assist with the monitoring, troubleshooting, testing, and documentation of SCADA systems. This role provides hands-on experience with industrial control systems, operational technology, field communications, and pipeline operations. You will work alongside SCADA, Automation, IT, and Operations personnel.
What you'll do#
- Monitor SCADA system performance, reliability, alarms, communications, and data quality.
- Help troubleshoot SCADA application, communication, and data issues.
- Validate SCADA points, tags, historian data, and system configurations.
- Create and modify SCADA graphics, HMI displays, trends, reports, and dashboards.
- Support testing and documentation of system changes prior to deployment.
- Assist with troubleshooting communication paths between RTUs, PLCs, field devices, and host systems.
- Participate in testing and commissioning for new assets and system enhancements.
- Maintain technical documentation, system drawings, and configuration management.
- Extract and analyze operational data to identify potential discrepancies.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
- A GPA of 3.25 or higher is required, with 3.5 or higher preferred.
- Full availability during the summer of 2027.
- Interest in a career within the oil and gas industry and operational technology.
- Basic understanding of computer systems, networking, or programming concepts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to document technical information with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with networking, PLCs, RTUs, SQL, Python, or PowerShell is a plus.

- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship.
- Available locations include Houston, TX; Anchorage, AK; Belle Chasse, LA; Bloomfield, NM; Nikiski, AK; George West, TX; Palermo, ND; and Ignacio, CO.
