About the role#
The Food Runner assists the kitchen team by ensuring food moves from the kitchen to the dining room. You will support Sous Chefs and cooks by preparing ingredients and keeping the kitchen stocked. This role involves direct service to guests and coordination with other staff members to maintain smooth operations.
What you'll do#
- Read and gather ingredients for recipes.
- Slice, dice, chop, and prepare raw products for service.
- Ensure the quality and presentation of food products meet specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Provide fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service to team members.
- Help set up the line and assist with food production.
- Rotate food products and manage inventory to ensure freshness.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Six months of kitchen experience in a high-volume establishment is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Knowledge of sanitation standards and procedures.
- Ability to attend to multiple priorities simultaneously.
