About the role#
This internship provides foundational exposure to medical office operations within a mental health setting. It is designed for individuals seeking to enter the healthcare field, including those without prior medical or office experience. Participants receive hands-on training, mentorship, and a certificate of completion after finishing 600 hours of service.
What you'll do#
- Manage front desk duties including faxing, copying, and filing.
- Handle patient check-in and check-out procedures.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow in the waiting area.
- Use the MEDENT system to learn Electronic Health Record basics.
- Maintain professional phone etiquette.
- Learn general medical terminology and the basics of psychiatric services.
- Gain an introduction to insurance billing and coding.
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain patient privacy.
What you'll need#
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school graduate.
- Ability to commit to a consistent schedule.
- Motivation to gain experience for career development.
- Ability to pass a basic screening and background check.
- Compliance with the company drug-free workplace policy.

- Location: West Palm Beach, Florida.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Rolling.
- Schedule: Flexible, minimum 20 hours per week, including 10-hour full office days.
