About the role#
As an editorial intern for Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, you will work with our editors to gain hands-on experience in the publishing industry. This role involves supporting daily operations, contributing to special projects, and participating in departmental meetings. You will also have access to educational sessions and networking opportunities across the company.
What you'll do#
- Support the editorial team with daily tasks and special projects.
- Research industry and market trends to build resource databases for the team.
- Log and review manuscript submissions.
- Draft feedback to help inform editorial letters.
- Attend weekly editorial meetings to discuss projects and market opportunities.
- Draft written materials such as copy and correspondence.
What you'll need#
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational and research skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Resourcefulness to manage multiple responsibilities and work independently.
- An interest in Young Adult and New Adult romance novels.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, part-time internship for Fall 2026, running from September 13, 2026, to December 11, 2026.
- The schedule is 28 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, at $17.00 per hour.
- This position is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days per week on-site in our New York office.
- A company laptop is provided for the duration of the program.
