About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in agronomy operations for the Summer of 2027. You will work under the direction of location management to learn the foundations of the FS and GROWMARK System. This role is designed to help you build professional relationships and gain exposure to the agriculture industry to prepare for your future career.
What you'll do#
- Assist with facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
- Operate field research and crop monitoring equipment and technology for scouting.
- Apply crop nutrition and crop protection products.
- Gain experience with ordering, receiving, and inventory control.
- Complete an operational project focused on improving business efficiencies.
- Participate in all Exploring Agriculture Internship Program activities, including weekly reporting and a required orientation meeting in Bloomington, IL.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree or certification program at a community college, technical college, or university.
- Good academic standing.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Comfort working in varying weather conditions and at elevated heights.
- A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
