About the role#
As a Community Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of an assigned student living property. This role focuses on achieving financial and operational goals while ensuring compliance with company policies and housing regulations. You will lead a team, manage property resources, and maintain high standards for resident satisfaction.
What you'll do#
- Manage property operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, and controlling expenditures.
- Oversee the lease enforcement process, including application approvals, inspections, and rent collection.
- Promote resident retention by addressing complaints and service requests in a timely manner.
- Supervise and train property staff, including maintenance team members.
- Build and maintain relationships with university officials, students, and parents.
- Conduct regular property inspections to ensure safety, cleanliness, and appeal.
- Implement marketing and leasing strategies to meet occupancy and revenue targets.
- Ensure all lease documents are complete and compliant with California-specific requirements.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Management, Communications, or a related field.
- At least 4-6 years of relevant experience in residence life or property management.
- Knowledge of equity, inclusion, and legal issues impacting higher education, such as Title IX and ADA compliance.
- Proficiency in property management software and database programs.
- Strong problem-solving skills to manage residential challenges, conflict, and crisis response.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a leader.
