Job Description: Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc., makers of YellaWood brand pressure-treated pine, is seeking candidates for a Marketing intern in the 2027 Summer Internship Program. This program is an opportunity to experience the lumber industry and workforce like never before. From networking opportunities and real-world projects to community service events, Great Southern provides an incredible opportunity to gain valuable real-world experience. Responsibilities may include:
Designing and updating flyers, ads, and other miscellaneous items, including: Create visually appealing flyers, forms, posters, ads, and other promotional materials. Use design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) to produce high-quality graphics. Ensure designs are in line with the organization's branding guidelines. Arrange text and images in a visually pleasing and organized manner. Format forms and documents for readability and user-friendliness. Edit and retouch images as needed for design projects. Brainstorm and collaborate with the team to come up with creative design concepts for various projects. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to gather project requirements. Organize and maintain digital files, ensuring easy access to design assets and resources. Archive completed projects for future reference. Ensure that designs are error-free before final production. Prepare design files for print, including setting up print specifications (bleeds, color profiles, etc.). Be open to receiving constructive feedback from managers and incorporate it into design revisions. Maintain design-related documentation and resources. Take advantage of the internship as a learning opportunity to improve design skills and gain practical experience. Ensure compliance with copyright and intellectual property laws when using external resources.
Qualifications:
Must be at least a sophomore and actively seeking a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, or other closely related field with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater. Must have experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook.
