    Job Description: Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc., makers of YellaWood brand pressure-treated pine, is seeking an Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. This program is an opportunity to experience the lumber industry and workforce like never before. From networking opportunities and real-world projects to community service events, Great Southern provides the incredible opportunity to gain valuable real-world experience.  Responsibilities may include:

    Performing data collection and analysis Generating reports based on results Assisting in designing new products, developing stereotypes, and testing existing products for safety or quality issues Using engineering software to model data or suggest solutions Communicating with supervisors or customers to gather info about project requirements or to report progress on a project Performing engineering calculations, including working with computer-aided design (CAD) tools to design products

      Minimum Qualifications:

    Must be at least a Sophomore and actively seeking a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater. Must have experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook.
