About the role#
Great Southern Wood Preserving is hiring an Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position is based on-site in Abbeville, Alabama. It is a full-time, paid internship that provides experience in the lumber industry.
What you'll do#
- Collect and analyze data, then generate reports based on your findings.
- Assist in designing new products and developing stereotypes.
- Test existing products to identify safety or quality issues.
- Use engineering software to model data and suggest solutions.
- Perform engineering calculations and use computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
- Communicate with supervisors and customers to gather project requirements and report on progress.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least a sophomore pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher is required.
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
