About the role#
Great Southern Wood Preserving is hiring an Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. This full-time, paid position is based on-site in Abbeville, Alabama. You will gain experience in the lumber industry by working on real projects and interacting with internal teams.
What you'll do#
- Collect and analyze data to generate reports.
- Assist with the design of new products.
- Develop stereotypes and test current products to ensure safety and quality.
- Use engineering software to model data and propose solutions.
- Communicate with supervisors and internal customers to define project requirements and share progress updates.
What you'll need#
- You are at least a sophomore pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical or Industrial Engineering.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Experience with dashboard and reporting software, such as PowerBI, is preferred.
