About the role#
Great Southern Wood Preserving is hiring an Accounting Intern for our Summer 2027 program in Abbeville, Alabama. This full-time, paid internship offers on-the-job training and exposure to corporate accounting practices within the lumber industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the preparation, recording, and review of journal entries and monthly account reconciliations.
- Support month-end close processes.
- Perform technical accounting research and work on process improvement or automation initiatives.
- Gather and analyze large data sets to provide insights for the operations team.
- Help with financial statement preparation and various ad-hoc projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Accounting.
- Sophomore standing or higher.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
