About the role#
Granite Construction is hiring an Engineer Intern to assist with construction engineering operations. This role ensures that work on projects complies with all engineering standards. You will work on-site in and around Anchorage and Fairbanks, Alaska. This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
- Interpret design drawings for takeoff and workforce planning during bidding and construction.
- Prepare and distribute project documentation, including status reports, punch lists, and sketches.
- Provide technical support regarding project materials, delivery schedules, and construction timelines.
- Assist with change orders and estimates by preparing drawings and sketches.
- Develop job data such as quantity take-offs and material pricing.
- Maintain accurate records of quantities for work performed and materials installed to assist with cost control.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Up to 2 years of experience in construction estimating, engineering, or field support.
- Proficiency with MS Office products.
- The ability to perform trigonometric calculations.
- A valid driver's license.
- A commitment to corporate safety initiatives and the company Code of Conduct.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
