About the role#
As an Engineering Intern at Grande Cheese Company, you will work alongside engineers to support capital projects, facility improvements, and operational initiatives. You will gain hands-on experience across the planning, design, installation, and commissioning phases of projects within our cheese and whey production environments. This role focuses on developing your skills in project management, technical documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
What you'll do#
- Participate in or lead capital projects related to cheese production, facility operations, and continuous improvement.
- Assist in developing specification documents to support project requirements.
- Support engineers by gathering equipment information, identifying needs, and requisitioning supplies.
- Coordinate with contractors, equipment suppliers, and internal teams.
- Document equipment installations and update plant layout drawings.
- Assist project engineers with reports and documentation to meet project objectives.
- Collaborate with teams to support maintenance initiatives and operational needs.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting for issues that arise in the plant.
- Deliver presentations to corporate business partners and plant leadership.
- Lead and participate in meetings to support project planning and execution.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior status as a student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or a related engineering field from an accredited school.
- Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, and use sound judgment to make effective decisions.
- Ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships with associates at all levels.
- Active involvement in campus organizations, volunteer work, or off-campus employment is preferred.

- Work modality: On-site.
- This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
