About the role#
Grand Traverse Resort and Spa is hiring a Guest Experience Intern for the Summer 2027 season. This role focuses on bellstand operations and guest services. You will work on-site in Acme, Michigan, to gain hands-on experience in the hospitality industry. This is a paid, full-time internship that requires you to receive college credit.
What you'll do#
- Greet arriving and departing guests with a professional presence.
- Transport, log, and store guest luggage.
- Deliver VIP and guest amenities to rooms.
- Secure and manage incoming shipping packages during off-hours.
- Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and visual appeal of resort vehicles, the front entrance, and the main lobby.
- Operate and valet park guest vehicles during peak periods.
- Coordinate the pick-up and delivery of guest laundry and dry-cleaning.
- Stay informed about daily resort functions, local events, and regional attractions.
- Establish positive working relationships across all resort departments.
- Execute special projects and operational assignments.
- Maintain communication with supervisors regarding guest feedback.
- Attend bi-weekly intern and committee meetings.
- Complete internship projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at a University, College, or Community College with the ability to receive college credit for the internship.
- At least 21 years of age.
- A current, valid Chauffer or CDL license with a Passenger Endorsement.
- A driving record free of alcohol or drug-related convictions within the last 3 years.
- No more than 6 points in moving violations.
- A license that has not been revoked within the last 36 months.
- Relevant experience or experience with customer service.
- Basic computer skills.

- This position requires manual labor, including lifting up to 75 lbs and extended periods of standing. You will work in both indoor and outdoor conditions.
