About the role#
This internship offers practical experience in event administration and coordination. You will provide daily support to the conference services department to ensure resort events run smoothly. This is a paid, full-time position for Summer 2027 based on-site in Acme, Michigan.
What you'll do#
- Manage interdepartmental communications and assist with file management.
- Process and coordinate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and contracts for corporate groups, member events, and golf packages.
- Converse and negotiate with clients in a professional manner.
- Compose daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
- Handle daily correspondence including emails, memos, and letters.
- Perform secretarial tasks such as telephone communication, appointment scheduling, and filing.
- Introduce new systems or organizational skills to improve office performance.
- Assist with special projects like client social functions and direct mail.
- Job shadow in other departments and attend bi-weekly intern meetings.
- Maintain complete confidentiality regarding all business matters.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at a university, college, or community college with the ability to receive college credit for the internship.
- Strong English skills in reading, writing, and speaking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screen.
- Previous secretarial experience in sales, marketing, or catering is helpful.
- Adherence to resort grooming and dress standards.
- Commitment to following the environmental practices of the resort.

- Term: Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time (30-40+ hours per week) with flexibility for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Native American preference applies.
