About the role#
This is a 10-week, paid summer internship within the Grainger Technology Group. You will work on the Digital Experience Analytics team in our Chicago office to help us understand digital customer behavior. You will be treated as a full member of the team, contributing to real projects that impact our business and customers rather than working on separate side tasks. You will gain exposure to modern data platforms, AI-enabled workflows, and enterprise systems while learning from experienced team members.
What you'll do#
- Analyze customer experience across digital channels to find new ways to create value.
- Gather, clean, explore, and analyze data from large digital and business ecosystems.
- Build models, automation, and tooling to make insights easier for stakeholders to use.
- Summarize your findings, including limitations and tradeoffs, for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Present your work, impact, and key learnings to technology leaders at the end of the program.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
- Experience coding for data science or analytics applications, with a preference for Python or R.
- Familiarity with statistical modeling or machine learning techniques, such as regression, classification, clustering, natural language processing, or time-series modeling.
- Strong communication skills to explain technical decisions and insights through writing, visualizations, and presentations.
