About the role#
The Ministère de la Justice du Québec is hiring two students for a legal technician internship at the Laval courthouse. This position is based in the civil registry and public services department. The internship takes place during the winter 2027 semester and requires full-time, on-site attendance.
What you'll do#
- Receive requests from the public to assess their needs and provide relevant legal information.
- Manage case scheduling to ensure court hearings run smoothly.
- Handle administrative procedures and perform data entry tasks.
- Assist the judiciary by coordinating activities during hearings.
- Provide direct judicial support during court proceedings.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in a college-level legal technique program.
- The internship must be a requirement of your program or a condition for professional order admission.
- Proficiency in French suitable for the tasks of the role.
- Strong skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work well in a team and communicate clearly.
- A high level of autonomy, rigor, and organizational skill.
- Good judgment, analytical ability, and a desire to learn.
- You must be at least 16 years old as of June 30 of the year of your application.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.

- Location: 2800 boulevard Saint-Martin Ouest, Laval, QC.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Modality: On-site only.
- Compensation: Minimum hourly rate of $24.07, plus a 6.5% supplement for benefits.
- Requirement: Hiring is conditional upon the results of a security screening.
