About the role#
You will join the AI Research team to develop solutions that accelerate semiconductor product development across design, PDK, and specifications. This role involves collaborating with internal researchers, universities, and industry partners to evaluate AI solutions, GPU acceleration, and agentic digital-backend flows for advanced 2D and 3D design.
What you'll do#
- Create benchmarks to evaluate vendor, startup, AI, agentic-AI, and GPU-acceleration solutions.
- Build agentic AI digital-backend workflows to improve automation and productivity.
- Support the setup of engineering data environments and warehouses for digital-backend agentic flows.
- Develop monolithic 3D place-and-route flows, improve quality of results, and evaluate partitioning algorithms.
- Convert design-space exploration tasks into agentic workflows.
- Follow all safety, environmental, health, and security requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a PhD program for Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, VLSI Design, or Computer Engineering.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA and good academic standing.
- English fluency in both written and verbal forms.
- Ability to work on-site at the Santa Clara office for at least 10 hours per week.
- Preferred: Prior internship or co-op experience, leadership experience, and project management skills.
- Preferred: Proficiency in Python, Pandas, NumPy, SQL, and graph-search techniques.
- Preferred: Experience with semiconductor design, automation, and AI frameworks like Hugging Face, LangChain, or Ollama.
- Preferred: Experience solving challenges on platforms like Kaggle.
