About the role#
KLA is looking for a Software Engineer Intern to join our team in the semiconductor manufacturing industry. You will work on complex technical challenges, helping us improve the software that powers our semiconductor equipment. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Milpitas, California.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, test, and enhance software using C#, C++, Java, or Python.
- Collaborate with Machine Control and backend software teams to improve equipment capabilities.
- Create scripts and tools for automation, data analysis, visualization, and debugging.
- Analyze software workflows to improve performance, reliability, and engineering productivity.
- Build tools that help engineers troubleshoot and validate solutions.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, code reviews, and testing.
- Work on projects involving image processing and engineering data analysis.
- Learn the architecture of semiconductor equipment and how software interacts with hardware, sensors, and control subsystems.
- Investigate technical problems and explore new technologies to incorporate into our products.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics.
- Less than 1 year of related experience.
- A genuine interest in solving complex technical problems.
