About the role#
This is a paid, full-time co-op position for the Winter 2027 term, running from January to May. You will work on-site at the Port Wentworth mill. You will assist journeyman-level IEs with daily maintenance tasks to gain hands-on experience in an industrial setting.
What you'll do#
- Observe and assist with routine electrical and instrumentation maintenance.
- Perform electrical circuit troubleshooting and repair.
- Install conduit and wire.
- Handle lighting repairs and HVAC work.
- Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and drives.
- Calibrate instrumentation and control valves.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from an accredited technical college.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to work safely in a heavy industrial environment.
- Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights, and navigate confined spaces.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to use a computer for documentation and record keeping.
- Skill in following complex directions in oral, written, or electronic formats.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and learn through self-study.
- Physical ability to stand, crouch, climb, and reach to complete job duties.
