About the role#
This is a full-time summer internship for the 2027 season. You will work with our environmental remediation and management teams in Charlotte, North Carolina. The role lasts for 10 to 12 weeks and requires you to be on-site. You will apply your academic knowledge to real-world consulting projects while developing professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Perform engineering calculations using technical software.
- Write reports, letters, plans, specifications, and proposals.
- Input and analyze data to create maps, tables, and figures.
- Work with engineers, geologists, and construction personnel.
- Conduct fieldwork including soil, soil vapor, and groundwater sampling.
- Oversee contractor activities at project sites.
- Drive personal, company, or rental vehicles to reach project locations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in geology, environmental engineering, civil engineering, or chemical engineering.
- Strong academic record.
- Clear written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to solve problems and work well with others.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record and reliable transportation.
- Experience with ArcGIS, CADD, or Microsoft Office is preferred.
- Previous internship or research experience is preferred.
