About the role#
Geneva Trading is looking for students to join our core development team for a full-time C++ internship. This 10-week program provides hands-on experience within the trading industry. You will work on projects that impact the firm while receiving mentorship from senior technologists. We also host corporate training, teambuilding activities, and social events throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Develop, test, and deploy software solutions with support from senior staff.
- Research techniques to solve complex problems using large data sets.
- Collaborate with middle and back office technologists, researchers, analysts, and project managers.
- Use AI coding tools like Claude Code to navigate the codebase, automate routine tasks, and speed up feature development.
- Share your ideas and incorporate feedback into your work.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program in Computer Science or an adjacent field.
- Graduation date between April 2024 and August 2026.
- Strong C++ programming and design skills.
- Understanding of core computer science concepts like data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
- Experience with network programming (TCP/IP) and multi-threaded applications.
- A disciplined approach to work, curiosity to learn, and the initiative to ask questions.
- Preferred: Knowledge of Linux, data pipelines, relational databases, and data storage.
- Preferred: Prior internship experience in software development or data engineering.
- Preferred: Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks or terminal-based AI assistants.
