About the role#
Geneva Trading is looking for students to join our systems reliability engineering team for a 10-week summer internship. This is a full-time, paid position that provides hands-on experience within the trading industry. You will work on projects that impact the firm while receiving mentorship from industry professionals. This program serves as a path to full-time opportunities after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Support engineers through the change release and deployment process.
- Troubleshoot issues on trading desks and escalate to DevOps or Development teams when needed.
- Review log files to identify application issues and propose solutions for common problems.
- Assist in managing and tuning monitoring tools to prioritize alerts.
- Develop scripts to automate daily tasks.
- Use generative AI tools and Large Language Models to speed up script development and improve troubleshooting workflows.
- Help implement AI-driven solutions for log analysis, anomaly detection, and system monitoring.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Information Technology or a related field.
- Experience with troubleshooting, documentation, basic networking, and Windows OS.
- Experience with scripting in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- A foundational understanding of Artificial Intelligence and a willingness to use AI tools for problem-solving.
- Ability to work as a self-starter and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Python proficiency is highly preferred.
- Experience with cloud services, log tools, queries, and Jira is preferred.
- Project management experience is a plus.
- Experience with AI-assisted coding tools or integrating AI/ML APIs into automation scripts is preferred.
