About the role#
General Motors is seeking a Supervisor for a Winter 2027 co-op term in Oshawa. This role involves supervising hourly employees in a unionized production environment. You will manage daily operations, ensure quality standards, and drive efficiency improvements. This position requires someone who can handle technical problem-solving, make timely decisions, and navigate changing priorities in a plant setting.
What you'll do#
- Supervise hourly represented employees and align work with local and national labour agreements.
- Implement Health and Safety laws to maintain a safe work environment.
- Manage personnel, materials, and equipment to meet business plan objectives.
- Improve quality levels and efficiency through continuous improvement efforts.
- Reduce costs and eliminate waste within the department.
- Maintain department records and handle administrative tasks.
- Collaborate on innovation challenges, interact with industry leaders, and attend trade events.
- Participate in community service activities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a co-op program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Commerce, Finance, or a related field.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week for an 8 or 12 month term starting in January 2027.
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
- Willingness to work in a plant environment with a flexible schedule, including shift work, weekends, and overtime.
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Prior manufacturing, production, or supervisory experience is preferred.

- Salary: $4,264 to $4,784 CAD per month.
