About the role#
General Motors is seeking students for the Summer 2027 Sales Internship Program. This 12-week project-based role provides hands-on experience within the Sales organization. You will collaborate with regional and headquarters teams to analyze market data, identify opportunities for sales effectiveness, and develop recommendations that support business priorities. Interns may be placed within the Cadillac, Buick GMC, or Chevrolet brand organizations based on business needs and individual goals. At the end of the term, you will present your findings to an executive leadership team.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with regional and headquarters Sales team members to collect, analyze, and interpret sales and market information.
- Identify key drivers of sales effectiveness using national, regional, and local market analysis.
- Build standardized sales-effectiveness reports and develop recommendations for near-term actions.
- Support Sales Operations teams with current business needs and project deliverables.
- Develop an understanding of established sales procedures and approaches.
- Apply academic knowledge and problem-solving techniques to identify and resolve issues.
- Seek customer feedback to develop a detailed understanding of customer needs, issues, and priorities.
- Use data and market insights to stay informed about customer preferences and market trends.
- Approach setbacks with resilience and a positive attitude.
- Present solutions and recommendations to Sales leadership.
- Learn and apply new skills and technologies.
- Complete a project that creates value for General Motors.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029.
- Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, for the 12-week duration.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Demonstrated leadership through academic, extracurricular, or service activities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of integrity, initiative, and self-direction.
- Comfort working through ambiguity and consistent demonstration of innovative thinking.
- Customer-focused problem-solving skills.

- Work Modality: Hybrid (expected to report to the office at least three times per week).
