About the role#
The Machinist Intern will gain hands-on experience with the production process while working under the supervision of a mechanical engineer. This role focuses on strengthening machining abilities through direct involvement in manufacturing tasks and engineering support.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and load fixtures into CNC machines.
- Assist in monitoring the machining process.
- Perform post-machining tasks including sandblasting and deburring.
- Hand assemble parts into finished products.
- Assist with inventory tracking for parts and finished goods.
- Ensure quality control standards are met for all products.
- Troubleshoot part issues and identify potential design flaws.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to suggest design improvements and assist in the development of new products.
What you'll need#
- A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
- High attention to detail.
- Knowledge of firearms parts is preferred.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

- Location: Columbia, Missouri.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time.
- Compensation: $16.00 to $18.00 per hour, based on hands-on experience.
