You will help develop systems that allow utilities to make informed decisions and support the transition to an AI-native grid.
What you'll do#
- Research post-training techniques for foundation models.
- Explore fine-tuning, alignment, reinforcement learning, and feedback-driven learning.
- Run experiments to improve model performance on utility-specific tasks.
- Evaluate model behavior, accuracy, and domain adaptation.
- Support the creation of datasets and training pipelines.
- Analyze the tradeoffs between performance, cost, and operational value.
- Work alongside AI researchers and software engineers.
- Present your experimental findings and recommendations to the team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or a related field.
- Experience with Python and machine learning frameworks.
- A solid understanding of supervised learning and deep learning fundamentals.
- Experience conducting research or model development projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with LLM fine-tuning and model alignment is preferred.
- Knowledge of reinforcement learning and preference optimization techniques.
- Proficiency with PyTorch, Hugging Face, or similar frameworks.
- Familiarity with generative AI technologies.
- An interest in energy systems and critical infrastructure.
