About the role#
Gaylor Electric offers a paid summer internship program for college students interested in construction. This program lasts 8 to 11 weeks and provides hands-on experience to help you apply academic concepts to real-world projects. You will work alongside professionals to explore career paths and build your skill set.
What you'll do#
- Explore construction career paths and develop technical skills.
- Participate in resume development, interview preparation, and business best practices discussions.
- Receive professional headshots.
- Build networking skills and professional habits.
- Complete an academic capstone presentation or a craft skills assessment.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering (Architectural, Electrical, Civil, or Construction), Occupational Health & Safety, Business, Finance, Marketing, Accounting, or a related field.
- You are comfortable with travel to different project locations.
- You demonstrate grit, consistency, and a strong work ethic.
- You are detail-oriented, organized, and hold yourself accountable.
- You have strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
- You work well in a team and aim to have a positive influence on others.
- You possess purpose, resolve, and determination.

- This position is located in Charlotte, North Carolina.
- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
